    General Information

    Flower Show School Course II, is the second in a series of four courses. To take this course for credit, student must have attended Course I. Attendance is open to all garden club members and guests. To receive credit toward becoming an Accredited NGC Flower Show Judge, one must attend the full two-day course

    at the cost of $130, pass the written exam on Friday, March 22, be an active NGC garden club member, read The National Gardener, and own the current updated NGC Handbook and any printed changes. The exam is optional for those who are

    attending for enrichment only. Front seats will be reserved for students taking the course for credit. Those seats will be numbered and assigned in the order in which paid registration is received. Students must have their attendance card punched at the beginning of each session and may not leave until the conclusion of the class to receive full credit. The examination consists of 10 questions each in Flower Show Procedure, Horticulture and Design. Students should bring a clipboard, pencil and Handbook with updates. Outlines will be emailed upon paid

    registration to students and hard copies will be provided for all attending on the first day of class.

    Take Exit 129 to NJ Turnpike South (Trenton).

    Take Exit 9 (New Brunswick) onto US 18N,

    quickly exit onto US 1 South then continue as below *

    From Garden State Parkway, South:

    Take Exit 130 to US 1 South * Exit right onto Ryder’s

    Lane via the jug handle under the overpass. Immediately move

    into the left lane to make the 1st left turn into Rutgers Gardens

    on Log Cabin Road. Turn left. Follow the signs to Holly House.

    From NJ Turnpike:

    Take Exit 9 (New Brunswick) to US 18N, quickly exit

    onto US 1 South then continue as above*

    Dear Club Presidents, Members and Honored Guests:

    The 94rd Annual Meeting of The Garden Club of New Jersey will be held on June 6, 2019 at the Bridgewater Marriott Hotel. At this time we will welcome the CAR Assistant Director, Angie Raitano, who will install the new officers for the 2019-21 term.

    Registration is $55 per person, non refundable after June 1, 2019. The registration deadline is May 31, 2019. 

    Note: You will be directed to GCNJ's event registration system and must register for this event.  Payment can be done immediately online or you may send a check, however, you must register using the system. 

    The day events Include:

    • 8:00 a.m. - Registration
    • 9:15 a.m. - Morning Session 
    • 11:30 a.m. - Social Hour 
    • 12:30 p.m. - Luncheon 
    • 1:15 p.m. - Afternoon Session

    It will be open seating in the morning and in the afternoon with the exception of Life Members, Honor Tables, Scholarship and Awards recipients in the AM and Life Members and Honor Tables in the PM.

    The morning session will feature the GCNJ Book of Memory Ceremony, the Scholarship and the Awards Presentations, and the New Officers Installation. During the mid-day break, everybody will have a chance to shop the boutiques, purchase raffle tickets and enjoy the creative designs by our own GCNJ floral designers.

    The program will be presented in the afternoon by Candace Morgenstern. Candace is a member of Newport & Tiverton Garden Clubs in Rhode Island. She is a National Garden Club Master Judge and has won numerous awards for creativity in floral design throughout the country and internationally in NGC, GCA and WAFA flower shows. She continues her floral design study with international designers here and abroad. We are so fortunate to welcome Candace! You won’t want to miss this special presentation.
